Custom made crayons

Why not make some custom crayons to use at home, for a friend or to add as party favors in your birthday gift bags?

What you need:

1. Old, broken crayons

2. Silicone muffin molds (any shape will work fine)

3. A baking tray to set the muffins on

4. A preheated oven set to about 170 degrees Celsius

Directions:

1. Peel the paper off of your crayons.

2. Place the broken crayon pieces into the silicone muffin molds.

3. Place the muffin molds on the baking tray and place the tray into your preheated oven.  Allow them to “bake” for about 15 minutes.

4. Take the molds out of the oven and allow them to cool for about an hour.

5. Pop the crayons out of the molds and put them to paper!

Just Speak,

Danielle

Hello Everyone,

We finished our Mother’s Day project this past Saturday during our Maternelle Club. For those of you that haven’t been following along, you can find the first part of our project here. In today’s post you’ll find a DIY necklace and a handmade card.

Although Mother’s Day has come and gone you can still use these projects for other occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or just as a way to tell someone that you love them or that you’ve been thinking about them. We hope that this project will make someone special in your life happy!

Just Speak,

Danielle

Practice writing your message out on a piece of paper first.
Practice writing the message (that will go on your hearts) out on a piece of paper .

Write a special message on the back of your heart but make sure to practice first!:

Mère, maman / Mother, mom

Vous êtes spéciales / You are special

Je t’aime – amour / I love you – love

Merci d’être une super maman! / Thank you for being a great mom!

Now write it out on the back of your heart decoration.

Let them dry out.

Please note that we varnished our beads after we painted them. The varnish keeps the paint from coming off of the beads and damaging your clothes.

Now have the children string their necklaces in whatever order they'd like.

fête de anniversaire/birthday party

(Scroll down for English!)

Hello Everyone,

My youngest turned two and we had a little cat party for her. I just thought that I would share some of the things that I did for her party. They were all rather easy and can be found on sites online.

Cat balloons – Found at parents.com. The wonderful thing about this project is that you are only limited by your imagination!

Party Favor Faces – I found printable cards at Willoday.com and decided to use them in the children’s party favors as I couldn’t find any candy necklaces anywhere…

Cat pizza – I used green and red peppers for the mouth, nose and whiskers and black olives for the eyes. The inspiration came from here at healthyschoollunchidea.org’s pinterest site.

Cat cake – I made my usual homemade chocolate cake that my whole family loves. I then left some of the frosting untouched by cocoa to create a defined mouth area and added Mikado as whiskers, the sugar stuffing from Oreo cookies for the ears, candy for the eyes, and some store bought sugar paste (pâte à sucre) as the mouth.

All in all the party was a success and most importantly my baby girl was happy! Have a nice Wednesday night everyone and I’ll see many of you tomorrow!

Just Speak,

Danielle
